The available OEM alternators for the GM® Vortec™ Engines are rated up to 145 Amps and only produce 85 Amps at idle. This SBC heavy-duty alternator generates a maximum of 260 Amps at normal driving speeds and produces 160 Amps at idle. With this alternator, you are gaining 75 Amps at idle and up to 115 Amps at cruising speeds.

This alternator is designed to be an exact replacement to the OEM alternator for the GM® Vortec™ Engines and will directly bolt-on with no modifications necessary. A precision machined, hard anodized pulley made from Aircraft Certified 6061 aluminum is installed on each alternator for maximum output and durability. This alternator comes with a full one year warranty.
